It’s a bit steampunk, it’s a bit Hogwarts Express, it’s all fun. In a little lane in sleepy Forrest is a complete old timber country train carriage converted into a snug accommodation. Being a carriage, everything is small, the one real drawback being no storage space. Being only 3 of us though, we used the third bedroom as a walk-in robe. It’s great for a family of 3 or 4 but you would have to be very close friends to have 4 or 6 adults! Other than that, it’s a wonderful spot. A high quality little kitchen, great shower, comfy beds, a leafy garden with BBQ and eclectic fittings make for a unique escape. Plus the new chocolaterie Platypi just up the road which you shouldn’t miss. A highly recommended stay.

  • Outstanding property along the Great Ocean Road

Very well laid out cottage with all the amenities needed during my stay. It was an easy walk down to the beach and access to both the Great Ocean Road and Skenes Creek Road made it an excellent base for exploring the coast and the Great Otway National Park. The deck made a great place to spend time listening to the ocean during Breakfast. The location was well kept up and clean upon our arrival, with the lights on to welcome us after a day of bush walks through the Great Otway National Park. At night, it was incredibly quiet, and with the windows open, the sound of the ocean easily lulled us to sleep.
