We spent a week at Sunset Cottage. The property is rustic and has all the basics you need. But what makes this property is it's location. Hooper's Bay is awesome place with lots of turtles, rays and I even saw a nurse shark one day. The patio is right on the edge of the water and at high tide the water is touching the retaining wall below the patio. So you can just sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy. It's the last house on that side of the bay so you really get very few people down that way (Even more then normal in Exuma.) Peter was not in town but made sure someone looked in on us and made sure we where good (he was easliy reached by phone if needed.)There are kayaks and paddle boards for your use and the bay is pretty protected from the wind (if it is up.) The place is very simple so if your looking to do a lot of cooking probably not the kitchen you want. Don't get me wrong everything is there and works but just basic stuff to cook with. It does have a Weber grill which we used one night for steaks (Prime meats is the place to go, 5 min away and there is also another store close as well.) Wifi worked fine as well as AC and TV. It also has an outside toilet room (for the boys:) Plus washer and dryer which is also great. Make sure to hit Santana;s and Mom's Bakery (Next door to Santana's.) We also hit the St. Francis (Over by Chat & Chill.) for lunch (good harbor view) and you can walk over to the Atlantic side from there if you like. Used Thompsons for car rental and make sure to rent a boat at Minn's for at least a day if not two.
P.S. I think the potholes have gotten better (less of them) since last year, others said the same we spoke to.
The view from Passionate pelican was truly amazing! It was our first time to the Bahamas and it was our honeymoon! We had a great time site seeing and spent a lot of time snorkeling right in our own backyard for the week! Cheryl was great and anytime I had questions or needed anything was quick to answer! Thank you for everything!!
