    The perfect vacation

    5 of 5
I am a Jamaican living in Texas. I spent a week at Ebb Tide in October 2009 with my family and we all had the time of our lives. The house was perfect for our needs. With me were my adult children, their significant others, my mother and my wife. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms made everybody happy. My wife spent countless hours scouring the beach, a few steps off the back patio, in search of shells. Needless to say we hauled a good load of shells back to Texas. My mother was in seventh heaven sitting on the patio sipping rum and coconut water. The younger generation spent a lot of time exploring the area, building sand castles, playing ping pong not to mention having long conversations with the bar tender at the main beach. I must admit that I was in on some of this. Oh the main beach. You will not find a better beach anywhere in the world. The staff at EbbTide are so wonderful that I wanted to take them home with me. Every meal that I ate was top class. Being a Jamaican most of my requests were my favorites from my youth. Those in the family that had never been to Jamaica before were equally enthusiastic about the food. We all ate with great enthusiasm. The staff really made us feel special. I won't even say all the "extra mile" things that they did for us because they really went above and beyond what they were supposed to. We made a couple excursions to Ocho Rios/Dunns River Falls and to Negril and Rick's Cafe. Ocho Rios was closer than I remember it (new roads) and Negril was not too bad except for the road construction on the West end of Montego Bay. The only bad thing was that the time at Ebb Tide was way too short.
