Rustic Countryside Tuscan Lodging on Generations-Old Family Farm

              4 of 5
We stayed in Le Cappane as our Tuscan base for exploring the region, including day trips to Siena, Florence, and San Gimignano. This working farm has been in the family for generations, and you will not meet nicer, more hospitable people in all of Italy! The accommodations were basic, comfortable, and quiet with a lovely swimming pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. Not for the fancy pants or party animals; great for a family or couples looking to escape from the bigger cities and savor the countryside, including hearing the melodies of various chirping birds (and roosters!), seeing wild deer bounding on the property, and enjoying butterflies galore fluttering near the pool. If this sounds like you, Le Cappane is a great place to stay.

              Relaxing and beautiful

              5 of 5
We stayed here for five nights and really enjoyed this experience. Our kids loved watching the sheep and hiking. We had an incredible cooking demo/lunch with Lorenzo and his mother. Lorenzo even made a reservation for horseback riding which our five year old adored. The apartment is gorgeous and located in the serene national forest. There are also many things to do in the nearby towns if you want a break from the quiet beauty surrounding the apartment. This homeaway experience is the top of our list from 2 months of traveling in Italy!

Old world charm, quiet location, central Tuscany

              5 of 5
A charming villa set amongst olive, nut and fruit trees. Within an hour of most major spots such as Florence, Sienna, San Gimagnamo (a bit further) Badia coltibuono etc. Very roomy and ideal for 3 couples. Well equipped with all basic needs with swimming pool very relaxing on hot days. Approach is a touch rough, but take it slow and no issues. Grand vista over the valley etc. Highly recommended for a rustic stay for a week or more. Great value
