        Absolutely Fabulous

        5 of 5
The property is beautiful, clean, charming, better than we expected and we expected a lot. Helga - wife of Wolfgang - the owners, is very good in English. Lots of things to do and see in the area. Excellent restaurants in all price ranges in Garlenda and the other small towns nearby. The Bagnii Roma beach club was first class with a nice snack bar, easy access convenient parking, changing rooms, and a charming hostess, Georgia. The swimming pool at the villa was crystal clear and inviting. Wine and cheese on the terraces and breakfast on the patio. The tables on the terraces are mill stones from the 12th century - a special touch. We dined in a couple of nights - purchased supplies at Ipercoop in Albenga. It's an easy 15 minute drive (if you're accustomed to small town Italy roads). Bedrooms were great. Internet & TV worked great. The gardens are lovely with a small stream right at the gated entrance at the bottom of the steep driveway. Garage parking for our car. We could not have asked for more. Things to do? one day to Monte Carlo, Niece, etc. One or two days to the beach and explore the beach towns. One day exploring the small towns in the hills on foot through narrow alleyways and pre Roman era stone bridges with frequent stops for wine and cheese etc. One day lounging around the pool or catch up on e-mail, then do it again. If you're a golfer, the Garlenda Golf Club looked great. We did not have time to play there, but it is close by. We highly recommend it.
