I wish I could give a 4.5 star review. The house is beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the view was unbelievable and the price was affordable. The location was nice and near many beautiful towns However, the house was a little dirty when we got there. The stairs are spiral and therefore hard to walk up and down and the top floor has very low beams that my cousin repeatedly got bonked in the head. I know the last two are not the owners fault but I feel they should be mentioned.

Is there really such a place in this day and age?

                                                          5 of 5
Prodo is a wonderful, very small town up in the hills of Umbria not far (in distance) from Ovietto or Purergia- and only a ittle more than an hour train ride from Rome or Florence. BUT! It is a world apart from all the traffic and commotion of those big cities. The house was very peaceful, and comfortable, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. BUT! It was the little village and the people who live there that made our trip the most unforgettable trip we've ever taken! Words can not describe the feeling of waking up to look out the window at beautiful rolling hills and freshly plowed black earth surrounded by trees just bearing their autumn colors, and hearing absolutely no noise- just peacefulness. Then walking 'two doors down' to the tiny cafe/bar where the owner made us delicious espresso and saved a crescent for us every morning. He came outside and set it down on a table that he would pull into the middle of the tiny village road under the morning sun, and we would watch as the villagers would come and buy an apple or a loaf of bread or a box of pasta- always stopping to say hello and happliy chatting about the village news. We were fortunate enough to be there on the day that 'Wild Boar Hunting Season' began. It was like watching a beautiful film as the hunters drove up to the village with their hunting dogs in tow. And all the villages gathered round to hear what had happened to them each day- and then try excitedly to repeat it to us. We were there for only 3 weeks, and we speak very little Italian, but we made some very good friends. (One, Angelo, even brought us his special pasta (twice), and stayed to have dinner with us! He even brought his sister one time, And it was absolutly wonderful!) Another time, a little boy, Ricardo. was visiting his 'Nonno,' and of course, they stopped at the cafe. Ricardo was 4, and he spoke no English, yet he sat and 'talked' to me for over a half hour! I could go on and on about the village and the people who lived there, but words could never convey the feeling that little Prodo left us with. I've been home now for a couple of weeks, and life here is just as chaotic as when we left. I try to find time each day to sit and close my eyes and go back to the peace and quiet of Prodo- if only in mind. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to really relax and go back to a time when computers and phones weren't as important as everyday life with your neighbors and friends.

                                                          Fantastic house!

                                                          5 of 5
We spent a week in lovely Cetona in july. To start with, let me tell you that we knew nothing about the town and the area, and we decided to stay in Cetona only because of this beautiful house that we found online/airbnb/homeaway. The expectations we had , based on the pictures we had seen, was met upon arrival, and we were absolutely stunned by the view, the property and the athmosphere. We were 10 people and Casale del Rose was everything we had dreamed of. Large bedrooms and seperate bathrooms, lots of hang-out-spots, and a large and practical kitchen with all the equipment you might need. Not to mention the amazing pool, where we spent most of our days. The small, cozy, old Cetona city is only a short walk away, and there are several good restaurants here. The host (Daniele) was very helpful and easy to communicate with. There are barking dogs in the area during nighttime, which you get used to, but if you have trouble sleeping we recommend that you bring a pair of earplugs;)
