One of the Best places to stay!

5 of 5
Could not have asked for a better host! for a better house! We were in Ascoli for a wedding, family from Italy, Argentina, United States and Australia were attending. Guess where we all gathered and had our meals and down time? At this house!! we felt at home, we felt like we were locals, we loved it! we were a family of 8 and we had room to roam, area to explore. Will stay here again always!! Thank you for making it so easy.

What a Wonderful Family

5 of 5
If you want an experience that will make you feel part of an Italian family this is the place to go. From the Grandparents to the Aunts and Uncles Sergio and Rosanna's family were the most welcoming and hospitable you could ever ask for. They had us share meals with them while Andrea, their son, took us for a tour of his winery. We got to get some peace and quiet in a small Italian Village. We had the entire top floor of the house to ourselves and the living and kitchen area on the second floor. Sitting on the enclosed deck in the morning I drank my coffee and planned our day. This would be a great place for students studying in nearby Macerata or for a couple like us who were trying to improve our Italian. Thanks Sergio and Rosanna for everything.

Amazing views!

4 of 5
Views from the windows and pool area of this home are stunning, as seen in the online photos. We took hundreds of photos with differing light - all gorgeous. Best thing about the house - the kitchen - huge windows looking onto the pool, and the hills around. Well appointed with pots, dishes, etc. House situated between fields - vines on one side, other crops on the other. You can hear chickens down the road, particularly, for some reason, late in the afternoon (feed time?). The bedrooms are a good size - with great storage (brighter bedside lights would be nice). There are 2 bathrooms, one at the front of the house near the 2 "adult" bedrooms, but down 3 steps. Small shower (no bath). The other bathroom is off the living room, which is separated from the bedrooms by a series of up and down stairs - making it unlikely to be used in the middle of the night. That bathroom has a bath. Nearby ( a 5 min. drive) there is a small grocery store, well-stocked, but with typically irregular Italian opening hours (meaning it is closed in the PM, closes early on Thursday, and possibly open only in the AM on Sunday). A bit further up, in the town of Patrignone, there is a bar serving coffee, lunch, afternoon drinks and snacks, and good pizza after 7:30. Apparently, the pizza is available for takeout. There are also shops in Montalto, which is up the hill, and some seriously twisty roads. It has a butcher, pretty good bakery selling nice pizza slices, a small grocery store, a few bars, a good green grocer and a pharmacy (which was never open when we checked). Montalto had the best market of the Italian towns we visited this summer, although we were told that the St. Benendetto one (about 30 minutes south, along the coast) was huge. We visited Petritoli, on a Sunday PM when almost everything was closed, Ascoli, which was beautiful, the beaches at Grottamare and St. Benedetto, plus drove up to Civitta Nova, which is a much more modern town. We ate at Due Pini, just on the other side of the house, fun - we spoke to some Dutch visitors/locals, and were greatly entertained by a rowdy sports club having a celebratory dinner. LOTS of antipasti the best of which was the red and white pizza - amazing crust. There are choices in pasta and meat- we learned from the local Dutch fellow to share all the courses - otherwise you will have way too much. TIP - get off the A 14 at Grottammare for Montalto, vs. Pedaso, to avoid many twisty roads.
