I am sorry I am writing this so late, but we stayed at this home in June of 2015. We used both wings of the house. What a perfect place! It was sooo beautiful! Right on the bay. This place is in a very tiny town of Glengarriff, it is close to the town of Bandon. Bandon is where we did all of our grocery shopping (abt 20 minute drive). The staff was so helpful, and were always close by if we needed anything. We had a family trip, 2 grandparents, 10 adults, 7 teenagers and 3 children ages of 8,9 and 4 months. The place is loaded with whatever you need. We cooked a lot and used all three kitchens. The kids loved the pool table and it came in handy on rainy days. We actually only had one full rainy day in the time that we stayed there, on that day we cooked, played games and enjoyed each others company in a very beautiful and comfortable setting. There are easy hiking trails around the place and a waterfall close by, keep young kids close as it is a real drop! The only thing I would complain about was the washer and dryers (but this is only because I am a "spoiled American!" It took forever to wash and dry our clothes! We had to keep emptying the tray of water at intervals, otherwise things stayed damp. Because of this we used up more electricity. This added to our bill at the end. We learned of a laundress in Bandon and brought our clothes there to be washed, but not until the last week. I would highly recommend this place especially if you just want to get away from it all. The kids said the Wi-Fi was slow?? But we were trying to get away from it all so the adults did not mind at all. It probably was not worth the extra fee to get it. A wedding was set up in the other home that they own, It looked like it was going to be beautiful! If you plan on doing trips to other parts I would plan on using up the whole day. It takes a long time to get from one place to the other. Rural Ireland has only two lane streets to take you from one place to another. It can take you up to an hour to travel 20 miles. But everything is so beautiful and the people so friendly we did not mind. Esther managed the place, she was Aces in our book! Sorry it took us so long to write! The gentleman who took care of the handyman type of stuff was also great, it has been a year so his name escapes me. The pictures do not do the house justice! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Declan McCarthy and Annie Gibbons and the whole entire family.
