A fantastic cottage for a relaxing getaway

                      5 of 5
The cottage had everything we needed and Patsy had thought of lots of little details which help at the start of a holiday. She was on hand if we needed anything, but let us get on with things, so we could enjoy our break. Spiddal is a lovely village, with beautiful beaches and a craft village. The beaches were perfect for walking the dog and were within easy walking distance. The craft village is well worth a visit with a wide range of handcrafted gifts - all those things you never knew you needed! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Patsy, for making us so welcome.

                      Beautiful cottage

                      4 of 5
Lovely cottage tastefully restored. Bridget is brilliant to deal with and neighbours make everyone welcome. Quite a distance to shops, but centrally located for all access to Connemara. Cottage had everything included and would definitely return again. Nothing to do with house really - but there is currently a boil notice in the area.

Cozy Cottage in a Great Location

                      5 of 5
We spent several weeks as guests of Marian and John in Ashtree Cottage. They were very friendly and gracious hosts. We found the cottage matched what the description and pictures online showed. The cottage was inviting, well equipped and each of the three bedrooms had en suite bath. Peat (turf) was provided if we wanted a fire. We had requested Internet access and Marian set it up when we arrived. Although it was a little slow, it was adequate for surfing and email, as Marian had told us in a previous conversation. The only negative I can think of is that the sofa and chairs in the living room could use better support for the cushions and we brought that to Marian's attention. Marian and John's farm is located next door and any questions or concerns were quickly addressed. Marian was very helpful in helping us find local music and restaurants. The cottage was on a quiet country road and we took a walk most days, sometimes joined by Buddy, the farm dog. We often ended up at the Shannon River which was tucked in between trees and farmland and very beautiful. You will need a car as it is a drive of 10 minutes to Banagher for groceries, petrol, pubs and restaurants. It was an ideal place to explore central Ireland with monastic sites, castles, gardens, bogs, steeplechase racing, distilleries, canals, and markets. We really enjoyed the sunsets, listening to the birds and watching Marian's flowers bloom. Family members who stayed with us for a week agreed with our assessment of the cottage. We would definitely stay in Ashtree Cottage again and would recommend it to our family and friends.
