Attractive modern house in rural Iceland

5 of 5
We had a great time here. Very warm thanks to the underfloor heating, even when -5 outside. Well equipped and comfortable with everything you might need (only thing we missed were a couple of mugs for tea and coffee). The setting is great, close to a local shop and petrol station in Laugarvatn. Geysir and Gullfoss are quite close. Vik is beautiful on a sunny day but a much longer drive of course. The house has a very spacious feel thanks to the open plan living room / kitchen layout and also the large amount of patio windows that open out on to the decking. You'll like it! We would like to come again without doubt and if you can wrap up warmly, March is a great time to see Iceland.

The perfect location for adventuring

5 of 5
This cottage is located right in the Golden Circle, making it the perfect place for a home base if you're planning to see all the natural wonders. The hot tub is certainly a wonderful plus, and the amenities made you feel right at home. This might not be the place for you if you want more of a nightlife, as the closest town is about 20 minutes away. However, its location means your views are wonderful, and even driving to and from the cottage is a chance to take in Iceland's landscape. For our future Icelandic stays, I'd only want to stay here. Hrafn is one of the best hosts I've ever encountered. Take his recommendations to heart— we found that the best times we had in Iceland were things that he had suggested. Looking forward to another Icelandic adventure soon!

Exceeded Every Expectation!!

5 of 5
I was actually nervous about booking Nonnahus at first, because it seemed too good to be true. But WOW. The pictures are entirely accurate, it's beautiful inside and out. It's easy to get to, easy to find (the host emailed great directions!), easy to get into. It was immaculately clean, the kitchen is very well stocked (We cooked every night, and the kitchen had everything we needed, it even had coffee!) We had a small child with us, and the crib & highchair made our lives so much easier. The best part was the hot pot- quick and easy to fill, the view of two volcanoes and the river was gorgeous. We actually skipped a few sightseeing things just so we could spend more time soaking. The beds were comfortable- two of the rooms have bunk beds, and two have double beds. The view out the window of the bedroom at the end of the hall is amazing, try to claim that one for yourself. :-) The hosts are very easy to work with, very responsive to email, and one stopped by on our first day there to make sure we had gotten settled in. This was an entirely problem-free rental, and I would gladly stay here again!
