          Recent Iceland Reviews

          Highest possible recommendation

          5 of 5
An absolutely beautiful house in a region with stunning vistas. The location is very central to many of the most impressive natural sites in the southwest Iceland. Gullfoss and Geyser are close by, as is the Pingvellar national park. The location also permits a (long) same day return drive to the remarkable Vatnajökull glacier and its Jokulsarlon iceberg lake. Rakel & Martha are wonderful hosts - providing advice on where to shop before heading from Reykjavik and equipping the house with everything you could want. The house was beautifully laid out and spotless. We stayed for five nights. With two teenage children, the house provided a room for everyone with lots of space to relax. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

          Exceeded Every Expectation!!

          5 of 5
I was actually nervous about booking Nonnahus at first, because it seemed too good to be true. But WOW. The pictures are entirely accurate, it's beautiful inside and out. It's easy to get to, easy to find (the host emailed great directions!), easy to get into. It was immaculately clean, the kitchen is very well stocked (We cooked every night, and the kitchen had everything we needed, it even had coffee!) We had a small child with us, and the crib & highchair made our lives so much easier. The best part was the hot pot- quick and easy to fill, the view of two volcanoes and the river was gorgeous. We actually skipped a few sightseeing things just so we could spend more time soaking. The beds were comfortable- two of the rooms have bunk beds, and two have double beds. The view out the window of the bedroom at the end of the hall is amazing, try to claim that one for yourself. :-) The hosts are very easy to work with, very responsive to email, and one stopped by on our first day there to make sure we had gotten settled in. This was an entirely problem-free rental, and I would gladly stay here again!

A beautiful home on the fjord!

          5 of 5
My husband and I just spent the past 4 days at this lovely fjord side home! We felt at home the minute we stepped inside the house. This newly built vacation home has all the amenities that one expects. The view is so amazing that it was difficult for us to leave the house. The beds are amazingly comfy ... The hot tub is unique and fabulous and the view of the northern lights on our first night was an added surprise that we were hoping would happen. The house is very roomy ... And the kichen had everything we needed. You will need to purchase spices and.sugar - no problem :-) we can't say enough about how wonderful it was. Highly recommend! Thank you for everything! M & M
