                            Really nice place.

We wanted to stay in a small village away from the main tourist locations and Grenivik is a gem. While it is a quiet location, it has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay, and it offers easy access to Akureyri and all the attractions the North has to offer. Ragnheidur's home is really nice. There were four of us (two couples) and we stayed in three different locations during our vacation to Iceland. We all agree that Ragnheidur's home was our favorite rental, and Grenivik was our favorite place we visited in Iceland. Everyone in the town was so nice including the market owner and restaurant owner and staff. The town pool was wonderful with a great view of the fjord. We were even able to see the whale's spray as they breathed in the distance. We booked a ride through the local ranch (Polar Hestar) and it was a wonderful experience. We even got to watch the local Grenivik football team win their game; go Magni! The area is just plain beautiful! The town was just plain great. Ragnheidur was really helpful in providing information on all the amenities and attractions in the area. She was a pleasure to deal with. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back.

Plenty of amenities; close to town center

                            5 of 5
We liked this house a lot. 6 of us fit comfortably and found everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The house is attractively decorated and clean and has plenty of amenities including a good selection of DVDs in English. The only tiny inconvenience we encountered was that there is only one house key provided, so those of us who stayed in the "granny flat" outside had to knock on the front door when we wanted to join the others inside. Strolling down to the town center was easy, even for our friend with the bad knee. And in the other direction, the grocery store and pharmacy were a quick drive. Definitely a good spot for a fun stay in Akureyri!

Definitely the best place and best views of our trip.

We stayed in this place which is right next to the water high atop a hill where you can see for miles. We stayed in the larger of places, the one with the hot tub. That was such a great treat to visit in the morning and evening just to relax. You're not that far from Akureyri to get a bit to eat, walk the city and grab some drinks. The place was quiet which we wanted and they are always building on the property trying to make it better. We did have some of the sheep next to us but didn't smell them at all as the place is quartered off pretty well. If you're looking for a place to stay that is near Akureyri, this is a good spot. The views are amazing and the place will take your breath away.
