            A Very Special Place

            5 of 5
Dan was one of the warmest, most helpful hosts we have encountered in our decade of travels around the world. His rental unit and gardens are as novel and unique as their creator and, with all the amenities of home, feel like home. Evening chats with Dan were like evenings with a close neighbor and friend. My morning yoga in the back yard away from the house felt as if I were in a world of my own alone with nature. Dan's home is in such an ideal location for so many outings. Our week flew by with trips to Akaka Falls, the Liliwai Banyan Drive, the Liliuokalani Japanese Garden, Coconut Island, the Old Mamalahoa Highway, the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, as well as snorkeling in the Kapoho Tidal Pools, relaxing in the Ahalanui Warm Spring, experiencing Uncle Robert’s ‘Awa Club, getting to see Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pots, Pe’e pe’e Falls, Waiale Falls, the Kaumana Caves, and biking to the awesome lava fire hose at Volcanoes National Park. Dan's suggestions enhanced our wonderful experiences. Dan, thank you so much for extending your home, garden, and yourself to us.
