We rented this house for a family trip to the Kona area. There were 8 of us, including 2 young children. This house fit our needs very well with it's 2 floors and 4 bedrooms. The proximity to the beach was one of the main selling points and was very convenient for the children. The beach was literally just down the driveway (steep and narrow) and across the street. It is a protected beach and the little ones were able to play in the sand and water easily. There was a boogie board and some well-used snorkel equipment that we used. There was also a cooler that we were able to borrow for our longer excursions. A couple of things of note, there is just the bare minimum of cooking utensils, pans, etc. and most of them are in well-used condition. A few new knives might be in order. Many of the other vacation rentals we have had before have had some basic condiments and cooking supplies in the cupboards and refrigerator, this one had pretty much nothing other than salt and pepper. Don't know if that is normal for them of if that is just the way we caught it. The bed in the second bedroom on the third floor was very soft and not very comfortable (but the rest of the beds were fine). The third floor has a vaulted ceiling and the bedroom walls don't go all the way up (makes for better ventilation, but not great for privacy). The view from the lanai is wonderful, we really enjoyed sitting out on the swings in the evenings. All in all, it was a great rental and we had a great time.
