Anini Beach: Luxury House Rentals (3)

Clean, well appointed and located

4 of 5
This condo checks the boxes for a simple convenient place to spend your vacation. We found it to be basically exactly as described, it was very clean and in good condition. The location is convenient for immediate access to Hideaways and Hanalei Bay, we are surfers and enjoyed being able to walk to two spots from the house. Though the walk down to the St Regis beach is a lot of stairs! The view from the Lanai is also lovely. We cooked a lot and found we had what was needed in the kitchen (though as a minor note to Cal: the peeler desperately needs to be replaced and another good chefs knife would be great). Many of the basic condiments were available in the kitchen. We had an issue with the key when we arrived and Cal was responsive and got the problem fixed immediately. The one criticism I might have is that the place is a bit sterile feeling, but that is true for much of Princeville! Overall it made for a good vacation.

Incredible slice of ocean front

5 of 5
Makana Akua is a wonderful place to spend your well earned vacation. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated and very well stocked. You can see the ocean from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, but you can't see into the home from the beach which makes it completely private. We walked down the beach most mornings to look for shells or snorkel at tunnels beach. There is even a shaved ice stand at the state beach that is within walking distance. The other direction down the beach is the Hanalei Colonial Resort and Mediterranean restaurant which serves delicious meals. The road in front of the house is a nice road for early morning walks or runs. It is a beautifully scenic approximately three mile windy stretch of road to the trailhead of the Napali Coast trail. Makana Akua is just far enough away from Hanalei Bay to feel remote and peaceful, but still close enough to go to the grocery store, shop, or grab a meal. It was the perfect location and home for a relaxing vacation for a family of four. We loved it!
