EXCELLENT HOUSE AND OVERALL EXPERIENCE.

5 of 5
The house is very well maintained, with excellent amenities and a simple elegance. We especially enjoyed the pool in the evenings after a full day at the beach or boating around the islands. We found the location very convenient, just outside Chora: easy to go to the beaches in the morning avoiding the traffic of the main port, but also close enough for our evening outings to the main town and its restaurants, bars, etc. Note though that you will need a vehicle. Finally the recommendations of Dimitra, Yannis and Panagiotis on restaurants, beaches and activities on the island were extremely useful and were highly appreciated by our group.

A super-relaxing stay in Skopelos

5 of 5
We had a very pleasant stay in this Cottage, between olive trees and all kind of flowers and plants. Mina , Kostas and Irene gave us a very warm welcome on the island and has been very very kind and responsive all along our stay on the island. The cottage is very well equipped, inside and outside. It is very quiet and relaxing , not being on the main street but a little inside. It is a position very convenient to get to Skopelos city (30 min walking, 5 min by scooter) and to the southern beaches. Very strongly reccomended for 2 people. may be the wifi service could be better, but the place is so beautiful that this passes on second plan..Thanks again Mina and Kostas for your kindness and for keeping so well that little spot of paradise. Hope to get back there soon! Cara & Carlo

A beautiful place to stay

5 of 5
Before our stay, Sylvia and I went to meet Ulrike and Manfried to take a little tour of the place. It was amusing how thoroughly everything was explained and made crystal clear. The Greek-Texan in me was thinking, "This is the difference between Greeks and Germans... nothing left to chance, everything on the list checked off and all ambiguities eliminated..... which is exactly what we needed, so the moment we arrived we were right at home. This is one of the few places on the island clearly designed by an architect, tastefully landscaped outside and practical and rustically appealing inside. Everything worked, although the I was surprised that the kitchen knife selection required a search for a real knife that took days to address. I love to cook and a big reason to rent a real house was to have a kitchen.... with tools. We could have survived with the knives nobody would bother to steal, but I am picky...just bring your favorite chef's knife if that matters to you. During our preview of the place, Manfried showed us the plum trees with about 50 perfect purple plums ready to pick and eat, and Sylvia could not wait to do that... but when we arrived, too late...somebody got to them! But you may be luckier if you arrive in late June or early july, and get a few. They looked perfect. The house is not in town, and although not far from Glossa, your link to everywhere is by bus, taxi or your own car. The bus is great and works fine in higher season, but in June the schedule stops a little too early and there is no way to plan a late evening in town if you depend on the bus. There is a pleasant footpath that leads from Old Klima, where this house is, down to the port of Loutraki (the port downhill from Glossa) You can walk there in a half hour for internet access and a few pretty good options for meals or coffee. But the real town is the port of Skopelos, some distance the other direction, and you will want to spend some time there, as it is a lively and more interesting destination, with attractive traditional architecture. This house is pretty far from the main town, so if that matters to you, bear that in mind. With a private car it is no big deal, but it is at least a half hour drive. Sylvia and I enjoyed dinners on the terrace, watching ferries to and from Skiathos come and go. We had one sighting of the beautiful and rare Eleanora Falcon that inhabit these islands. Stay here if seclusion and scenery are your priorities.
