The customer service was top-notch. When we arrived before our check-in time we were greeted by the cleaners who gave us some water and let us drop off our bags. They even gave us the number to call for the property manager who was available every day from 9-9 should we need anything. They left the villa spotless.
The location was one minute to a rocky beach, two minutes to a nice family restaurant, three minutes to a luxury hotel with beach access, pools, a bar and lounge chairs. We enjoyed going there too.
We were a group of 9 and three of the five bedrooms had a balcony with an ocean view. Three or four of the bedrooms had their own bathroom.. It was spacious, beautiful and very clean. It had breathtaking views, even from the livingroom.
There was so much attention to detail in this home. Our kids enjoyed the toys and the bunk-beds (with rails on the top bunks), the mosquito tablets in the outlets with extra tablets in the drawer in the hallway, the plumbers who promptly turned on the water and fixed a stopped sink, the fully stocked kitchen, the candles throughout, the artificial flowers which beautified the interiors and the real bougainvilleas on the exterior, the DVDs, the friendly and playful outdoor kittens on the property, the little dining table with plastic plates and cups for the kids, the little sofa for the kids and the baby bath-tub and all the advice. We felt at home here.
1) It is not recommended to drink the tap water in this city and if you put it in your coffee it will taste salty. Bring bottled water.
2) We were a five-minute drive to the airport but the occasional plane flying by was never loud or bothersome to us. We were a fifteen minute drive to the town of Fira and 36 minutes to the town of Oia. In Fira you can find gyros for 2,5 Euros. ;) If you want to see those places, it's good to have a car although there is one tour company that will pick up and take you on a boat ride from Fira to a few nearby islands.
3) Print the Google Maps before you arrive at the estate. Google Maps knows where the Bliss Estate is and without that map it may be a little tricky to arrive since there are no street names or addresses in this town.
4) Keep the doors and windows closed to keep the flies out.
