Great House Overlooking the Sea

5 of 5
It doesn't get better than this. We spent a week in this lovely home with a million-dollar view of the Aegean Sea and neighboring islands. The house is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed as well as a comfortable side veranda with the view of the sea. It is just a short distance outside charming Aegiali with its many shops and tavernas, and also a large beautiful, sandy beach where we swam every day. We vacationed on 3 Greek Islands and found Amorgos to have the most dramatic views and rugged scenery. In 1 day we drove to the southern tip of the island - Kalotaritissa, which is a quaint little fishing hamlet with a beautiful swimming beach. Then on the way back we visited Hozoviotissa Monastery - the 11th century monastery built into the side of a vertical cliff on the sea, and then stopped at Chora on the way back to Aegiali. The island has numerous hiking trails with marked signs, and we did walk from Lagada to Tholaria which was pleasant but does involve a rather difficult and rocky river bed. Lastly we want to thank Marco for inviting us into his home. And we hope to visit here again sometime in the future.

Living on a greek island

5 of 5
We are a famiy of six, and we spent about a week in this house. It gave us the taste of the local way of living. We explored this dramatically beautiful island and enjoyed the covenience and views in this traditional house. Langada is wonderful to stay in, and we recommend this house for staying. The older boys took over the upper floor and we stayed with the younger ones on the first floor, but spent a lot of time together and had our meals together and still got some privacy.

"A lovely, roomy, authentically restored village home with stupendous views down the hillside to the harbor. Romantic and quiet, it's a perfect place to write, read, and simply sit and drink in the surroundings. Well supplied with everything, from kitchen to bath."
