A very nice apartment, just what we were looking for. We had a baby with us, so we needed plenty of space. There is more than enough room for a travel cot in the bedroom. There is also a sofabed in the living room if the baby is a light sleeper. The owner provided the cot, and she also found a high chair for us. She was extremely helpful with everything.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. The bed was good quality and the sofabed was comfortable enough. The shower was powerful. There wasn't a microwave, but we found we could easily do without. Some food essentials were provided - salt, coffee, tea etc. The internet connection was good (cable). The balcony isn't very big, but it was nice to have the space. It gets the afternoon sun and doesn't overlook a road.
The apartment is located in a quiet street - only residential traffic and very little of it. It's located between the Grunewald park and the busy Argentenische Allee. It's well-connected to the public transport system. It's very close to the U3 line, which takes you directly to the centre - to Wittenbergplatz, which is the stop for KaDeWe. It's also very convenient for the Freie Universitaet.
We hired some bikes when we were there (try Zweirad Henel on Berliner Strasse). It was really easy to go all over - you can easily get to the centre, or go the other direction to Potsdam, or catch the ferry over from Wannsee and cycle up to Spandau and back.
There isn't that much by way of shops / bars / restaurants very close by, although there are a few things at the underground station, including a supermarket. There are more shops and restaurants on Clayallee and by Krumme Lanke underground.
I really do recommend this place if you're looking for something quiet and relaxed where you can see some greenery, but which has good transport connections so you can experience more of the urban part of the city.
