Very private cabin with beautiful views

      4 of 5
We found the cabin to be beautifully situated atop a hill with unobstructed views of the adjoining Tocoaa River and surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Though it was smaller than most, the cabin was charming and full of character. The kitchen was properly stocked with utensils, and the bed and bath were fitted with good linens. A strong winter storm blew through during our stay which resulted in 6" of snow and overnight lows in the single digits. The house was drafty, but their provided space heaters supplemented the main furnace and kept us sufficiently thawed. Unfortunately, the main water line froze on our last day and we lost water service, but it hard to blame the house when it's that cold out. A 4x4 is definitely needed due to a steep driveway (appx 200' long gravel drive with angles ranging from 10 to 17 degrees), however it is possible to park a non 4x4 at the road and walk the driveway if you're willing to carry your belongings. This would only be recommended for those able to climb the equivalent of 10 flights of stairs. We recommend this cabin for those looking for a quiet retreat or a couples getaway, and we would stay here again. It should be noted that the cabin is managed by a property management company, so plan to arrive at their office first, which is only 3 miles from the cabin.
