              A French Country Gem

              5 of 5
A splendid accommodation facility in this quiet French village. Beautifully appointed, quiet and supremely comfortable. Charming and very obliging proprietor. All that you could ask for. Very highly recommended........ Max and Janice

              Nice place

              4 of 5
We stayed here with our son, daughter in-law and daughter for 5 nights. We had a great time as this was the first time together in a couple of years. Patrick (the owner) was great and his english skills were very good. The house was comfortable with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs plus a water closet downstairs. The beds are a little on the small side but were comfortable. The kitchen area was good and the fireplace was great. The only thing lacking was a clothes dryer. There was a washer, TV (only a few french stations) and free WiFi that worked great. We did rent towels and linens from Patrick. You do have to pay for any extra electrical useage. Don't worry, for the 5 of us for 5 days we ran over but in total it came to about €10 extra. The grounds are huge. We took a couple of walks around the property. Very relaxing. A short walk from the property is a bakery, market, pharmacy and bar. The town itself is a little sleepy french village (just what we wanted, quaint and quiet). A short distance away is the historic medival town of Laon with major shopping, train station and restaurants. We ended up driving to Paris for the day. It was a little less than 2 hours away as we parked at the farthest out metro station and took the subway in to Paris. It was very easy to do and recommended. Parking was a breeze and no hassles. We also visited historic WWI battlefields and Reims, the champagne capital of the world, only a 30 minute drive away. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable, clean, affordable place to stay.
