              Perfect stay in Normandy countryside

              5 of 5
My wife and I stayed at Mis Harand for 3 nights in March. The weather was cold and dreary, but the hospitality was warm and cheerful! Chris and Jenny were fantastic hosts. We stayed in the Monet room which was very large and featured a very comfortable queen sized bed with nice linens - slept very well! The on-suite bathroom had a nice shower, large, soft towels, and soap/shampoo were provided. Breakfast each morning was the same and delicious. Cereal, yoghurt, cheese, meat, and an assortment of wonderful bread. The croissants were amazing. Tea, coffee, juice, and fruit were all available. Chris and Jenny were great to talk with and answered lots of questions about the area. We used this B&B as the base for two full days of exploring Normandy and a little of Brittany. We visited Mont St. Michel which was an easy hour drive away. Fantastic. We then went over to St. Malo and walked the ramparts. The second day we explored the beaches of D-Day. Pointe du Hoc and the American cemetery at Colleville ser Mer were moving and extremely well presented. We ended the day by touring the cathedral in Bayeux and enjoying a wonderful meal at a restaurant in the town center. Definitely need a car since the location is on a farm about 15km out of Bayeux. Had no trouble finding it using Google maps. We would highly recommend Normandy Getaways at Mis Harand.

Great Place - Beautiful Farm House In Normandy

              5 of 5
We stayed three nights at the farm house. Jenny and Chris were the perfect host and hostess. Our room was perfect for us and very comfortable. We decided to have two dinners with Jenny and Chris while we were there. Jenny made two typical norman french dinners and they were both delicious. We would recommend trying a dinner at the house at least once during your stay. If you are interested in the invasion and WW2 history this is the place to stay. Chris and Jenny are avid WW2 history buffs. Chris has a great collection of books and memorabilia. He is also very knowledgeable on the area and provides guided tours. My wife had a special connection with the area because her father landed on Utah Beach and spent a month in Normandy at several locations with the US Army before the breakout. Chris helped by mapping out the locations noted in her father's diary and we were able to visit almost all of the places. The farm house is centrally located to all the WW2 historic places and museums. For us, it was a very special trip. We also enjoyed spending time with Jenny and Chris. They are great people and we had a lot in common. It felt more like spending time with family. The breakfasts Jenny prepared with home made jams were a great way to start your day. We will definitely return again.
