We came with a family of four.....2 children and 2 adults. We brought our 25 foot boat. We LOVED this place. The entire property is rentals. You can tell these are older properties, except for the newer 2 story house in the back.
First of all, this place was entirely remodeled. Big bathroom complete with places to put all of your stuff and hooks for the towels and wet bathing suits.
Secondly, it was super clean. I am clean freak, and I didn't find anything that made my skin crawl.
Thirdly, it was well stocked with all the stuff in the kitchen you will need to cook meals. We chose to make all of our meals at home (except for dinner one night across the street at Bella Luna, which was delicious but expensive). I even needed Saran Wrap for left overs, and BOOM! It was there. I felt bad about using all of their stuff, so I replaced some of it.
The little pool was clean and cute. My kids used it every day. You have to sign a paper stating that you won't pee in the pool or use suntan lotion and then get in the pool. I thought that was great!
There was a little laundry out back that had an older washing machine and dryer. They were both a dollar. I never had to wait. Seems nobody used it but me everyday. The machines were both rusted but clean. It looks like the owners at one time provided soap, but nobody replaced it after they used it all. I brought my own.
There was a boat dock there complete with kayaks. We went up the road a mile and dropped the boat in, then brought it over to the dock. It made it quite convenient to just hop in the boat in the morning to go fishing. We didn't get to use the kayaks, but saw several guests that did. There was also a wonderful pier through the mangroves. I understand that cutting the mangroves is illegal now, so that let's me know this was done years ago.....super cool.............
There were water spigots in a few places so it made it easier to wash the boat when we pulled it out of the water.
A key deer made the back yard his bedroom one night, so we enjoyed watching him lay there. Lightening bugs were out, so we caught some and set them free. Iguanas everywhere....and you would hear them in the trees.
WE LOVED THIS PLACE and will be back. I actually want to find the rental ads for the other houses on this property so we can try the others.....
The only thing I will tell you to prepare for is the mosquitoes. They are bad, but slow. Almost like Key West time.....lol
Hope you enjoy it as much as my family!
