This house was so much fun for our two families of 4. It is well stocked with bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, hammock, outdoor seating/lounge chairs, heated pool/hot tub, and playful yard decor that will delight your kids and set the tone for a laid back vacation. The neighborhood is quiet and safe for bike riding. The neighbors, who are also caretakers of the home, unobtrusively checked in on us over the fence and offered suggestions for our wildlife/fishing adventures. We were just as happy hanging out in the backyard and snorkeling/spear fishing/lobstering/kayaking right off of our dock as we were on outings. The beds were all comfortable, but the master suite is quite a bit larger than the other three rooms, so if you're splitting this with another family, you may want to split the time in the big room. If you have a large group of living room loungers, you may find yourself competing for couch space - the master suite and the twin bedroom have TVs too though. The outside comforts and view are so lovely that this shouldn't be a problem though! We recommend renting a boat and a fishing guide to try some off shore and in shore fishing, find some good snorkeling/lobstering sites, and explore the beautiful waters and islands. The location is good for day trips out to Key West, state parks, and upper keys. Just up the street are two restaurant/bars if you don't catch enough to eat - Looe Key offered live music every night, even on Christmas eve and day, and served large portions of casual seafood fare. We were thrilled to have a manatee visit us on our back deck while some of us were kayaking. This was our top favorite vacation of all time and a very merry Keysmas for our 2 families!
