My husband and I were taking the grandkids on vacation and this was the perfect house. It's decorated with all the nautical themes you'd expect, it's very comfortable, and at the same, it's not so perfect that you're not comfortable. We want to relax and not worry every second that the kids will mess something up.
Another review mentioned the dock being in the neighbor's yard and overgrown. There were a few palmetto fronds that you had to push out of the way, nothing major, really not something I even paid much attention. Three houses are sharing the dock for now but with the exception of maybe 45 minutes total, we had the dock to ourselves. The dock is long, no I mean loooooong, enjoy it! I considered it part of the overall experience, no hurry, just enjoy the trip. The water is shallow but so crystal clear, you never know what you'll see. The kids had a blast with their nets, chasing fish by day and shrimp by night. Take some great flashlights or headlights to really enjoy it. We were also fortunate enough to be there during a meteor shower and the dock was just amazing for star watching.
Don't let the other review scare you about the neighbor's dog. His name is King and he may be a bit intimidating looking but he does his own thing. He's an older guy and likes to be left alone, We only saw him out a couple of times and he went his way and we went ours.
The king master bed is comfortable and the room is a good size, same for the queen bed and room. The bunkroom is small as expected. There was a minor complaint there, the box spring on bottom needs replaced with one for a bunk, it makes the bed too high for anyone except a small child. We found a solution by putting a blowup twin mattress in the master closet, for the grandson, as long as the door was open he had enough air from the surrounding room and could hide out with his games when he wanted quiet.
All in all, it was a perfect week. The biggest complaint is that we had too much fun and were absolutely exhausted. But would I go back? I certainly hope to!
