Wow! Found our vacation house for years to come!

          5 of 5
This was the first house my family has rented, and were a bit nervous about the whole process. Jim, the owner, took the time to email and call us and answer any and all our questions. The rental process went very smoothly. The pictures don't lie! This house was just as the pictures look on the website (no unpleasant surprises). Ok, the house is actually better than the pictures. House - the house is open concept at it's best. The living room, dinning room and kitchen are one big room, yet cleverly separated (this is where everyone hung out when inside and there was plenty of seating). There is also a big room upstairs that's another great place to hang out (this is where our kids hung out with each other). The house has such an open feeling to it with all the windows. On one side you look out into the bay (where dolphins could be seen every morning) and on the other side you're looking at the ocean. The bedrooms are decent size and no one felt crowded (we had six kids with us). Bathrooms were roomy (enough for mom to change and bath/shower kids with another kid brushing their teeth). The front deck (facing ocean) is like a room itself. Lots of conversation/bonding took place on it. The back deck was used to view the bay. The house is next to other houses, but you couldn't tell when you were in the house (quiet neighborhood). House was very clean and comfortable. Beach - Literally footsteps away. We felt like we had our own private beach. You could look down yonder and see a group of people that was a public beach, but no one was near us. This was nice for we could let the kids spread out on the beach with their stuff/toys and not worry about anyone taking anything. There were crabs, starfish, fish, hermit crabs, and such that could be found during the day. Yet not too many that any of the kids were afraid to swim in the ocean. At night the kids liked to walk the beach with a flashlight and see all the fiddle crabs - like all hundreds of them! We found shells, built sand castles, took walks, flew kites, and just hung out on the beach. The first night at the house, while sitting out on the beach watching the sun set, my husband asked me, "How much do you think Jim wants for the place?" Needless to stay, we love the house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and reluctantly recommend it to others (who may take it the week we want to come back :) Seriously, this house is a treasure.

          Amazing Bayfront Retreat

          5 of 5
My wife, two (10 and 13) sons, our puppy (Chester), and I are so glad we found this home to rent. The home is filled with the feeling of comfort and calm. The bedrooms, lounging and eating spaces are all incredible. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the views from the windows are breathtaking. The bathrooms are clean and conveniently located, with plenty of towels and great water pressure in the showers. We enjoyed making and eating meals together, sitting in the dinning nook, looking out over the bay. I love grilling, and while I am a charcoal guy, the wonderfully well kept gas grill on the back deck overlooking the bay, has almost converted me! My family and I often took the short walk on the dock to the bay, and enjoyed fishing or playing on the small beach close to the house; and when it was time for the real waves, we would walk across the street to the Gulf of Mexico! When we were a little restless, we would go into Panacea (what a name) -- and have a lovely meal, as fancy or as casual as we liked (we chose casual). There is a place to pick up grocery in Panacea, and there is also a great little spirits store, Two Blondes, where the cashiers are super friendly and are willing to give good advice on everything from family-fun outings to great fishing spots. In short -- if you have been stressing out at work (as we had) and your kids are sick and tired of being sick and tired of school work (and ours were) and your puppy is being....well, a puppy; do yourself a favor and get away to this quiet, rustic comfortable space where you will feel as thought you have returned to a place you somehow forgot existed...but you'll never forget again! Linda is charming and very easy to work with. Her attention to detail, and care for her home and her guest shows in aspect of this remarkable place. Thank you Linda! Cheers.
