How do you describe perfection? I have asked myself that question from the minute my family and I arrived to Arrecife 54 to this very moment as I sit to pen my review. There are many words that come to mind but I have decided to go with the first word and the simplest.....WOW!!
My first impression walking into that magnificent courtyard was the perfect symmetry of breathtaking elegance with classic simplicity. The essence of the house promised and delivered maximum relaxation in Caribbean splendor with every indoor and outdoor space balanced to evoke the true meaning of Zen……WOW!!
As we enjoyed sunny perfect cloudless days and star filled Caribbean nights with warm trade winds effortlessly flowing from the sea through the house caressing us as it did…we couldn’t help but wonder, after all our travels around the world to many unbelievable resorts and homes did we finally find our SHANGRI-LA? Our thoughts were only interrupted by Leo (#1 butler) checking to see if we needed a drink or anything else ....could this be any more perfect…..WOW!!
Our senses were tantalized by this perfect villa but perfection is circular and the wonderful staff completed the circle. I must give a special thank you to Jacqueline (#1mgr) who made this all possible. She started this perfect experience long before we arrived. The excellent service provided by the entire staff was evidence of their dedication and love for their job. They struck the perfect balance of warmth without being intrusive. No request was too much …no hour was too late or early for excellent service. Thanks to Elva (#1 chef) we feasted on both traditional Dominican fare and old standards, with every meal presented and prepared with top chef quality…WOW!!
As I conclude my review I am again smiling because I realize that even though we were there for a few days …something in us has changed. The feeling of wellbeing, relaxation and the wonderful staff WHO are now part of our family are forever embedded in our consciousness, available at a moment’s notice to transport us to paradise even in the middle of the stark reality of everyday life. We left a little of our hearts at aricife 54 but it was not an even trade because we gained more than we left. For the first time my family and I can truly say ….this is our second happy place because this is also home…WOW!!
