My sister and I stayed at Casa Bambora for three nights. It was a TOTAL haven! Joey, the affable, barefoot owner, is a sweetie, as are his two marvelous concierges, married couple Jenn and Jarred. We were treated like family, and made to feel at home from the get-go! No request was too small, or too trivial. Jenn even did a load of laundry for us, and both she and Jarred brought us along with them to the local Saturday morning market. We loved it, as we wouldn't have walked there, it was just so hot!
Casa Bambora is at the top of a hill overlooking Tamarindo. We were on the third floor. Our room was spacious, awesome and had everything we needed. It was windy and hot, but the rooftop deck, above, us, which we could access any time, was to die for. You can witness beautiful sunsets, have a drink, eat your dinner, or just lounge around on their lovely deck furniture up there.
The communal kitchen by the pool was a godsend. My sister made supper two nights we were there. They provide basic condiments, and there is a wonderful sense of sharing, of "bonhomie", as we say in French. Saturday night was a big, family type dining atmosphere, with a pool party thrown in. All this is in a safe and secure environment, which was so important to us, as women traveling alone.
What more can I say? It was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, and very affordable. Any questions? Please feel free to ask me. I feel like this review doesn't come any where near doing Casa Bambora, ANY justice. Kudos to Joey, Jenn and Jarred! I hope to send fellow Canadians your way. Casa Bambora will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart. PURA VIDA!!
