We were lucky enough to stay at Villa Marrakech over the Christmas Holidays in December 2016 with our five children. This was definitely the best vacation we have ever had and this house could not have been more perfect! The owner, Andrew, was absolutely fantastic and went to great lengths to ensure that our stay was flawless. We spoke multiple times both before and during the trip and he really went the extra mile for us--all the way from organizing a chef to recommending activities. He even bought a Christmas turkey and left in the fridge! The house staff, Yerlin and Diego, were also incredible. They went above and beyond their duties to make sure we had a great stay, often surprising us with a gourmet breakfast. My wife even keeps touch with Yerlin on Facebook. The house is stunning with incredible architecture and ample room for a large gathering. The second floor balcony provides incredible views of the ocean. The five bedrooms are spacious and all have their own bathrooms. There is a huge great room area along with a separate dining area. The location is unparalleled located directly on the beach (there is a path from the property line to the beach--it's about 10 steps to the water depending on the tide). Right in back of the property there is a great snorkelling area at low tide. A short walk in either direction takes you to incredible surfing or boogie boarding. Just to the south of the property is Playa Langosta river mouth where there is a famous surf break. Just to the north are the Tamarindo beaches. Although the location is very close to the action in Tamarindo, the house itself is completely private. There is a gated front courtyard and the backyard feels completely secluded with total privacy as there are trees that form a buffer from the beach. The pool is fantastic and was a highlight for our kids complete with an outdoor shower for washing off sand. Another highlight was the incredible sunsets viewed from the beach each evening. If you are looking for a luxury house in the Tamarindo area then look no further. A short drive or a nice walk will take you into town but this location allows you to be on a quiet beach but still have all of the amenities of Tamarindo. We also explored multiple beaches in the area--Playa Grande, Negra, Avellanas, etc, all of which were a short drive away.
If you want to explore the beaches of Guanacaste and have a large group, this is the place to stay!
