Absolutely wonderful!

5 of 5
This was by far the best place that we have ever stayed in the Cabuya area and we have been there eight times. The house was lovely and situated in a beautiful garden setting overlooking the Bay of Nicoya. Claudia and Chris were wonderful hosts, available to help with anything that we needed or to answer any questions.. Claudia even made a call for us to arrange a day trip to Curu where we snorkeled off of the Tortuga Islands, hiked through the park, saw amazing wildlife, and then swam at night with phytoplankton!! An amazing, amazing day and one that we would not have been able to arrange easily ourselves as our Spanish is not yet up to the task. Other days were spent enjoying the lovely views from the shore while sipping a drink while watching the moon rise over the water, tasting local treats at the many great restaurants in the vicinity, watching howler monkeys play in the trees, or trying to spot the giant sea turtles that swim just past the reef while we were out in the sea kayaks that Claudia generously provided. The house had absolutely everything that we needed, including a washing machine, which was a huge plus. Although vacations are meant to get away from it all, it was nice to have the excellent wifi in order to be reachable by the people who were not lucky enough to be with us in paradise. While Cabuya is not for everyone (not a luxury hotel to be found and somewhat dusty when not in the rainy season) it is a perfect place to feel the true heart of Costa Rica in one of the worlds seven Blue Zones. We will definitely be back and will absolutely stay in this wonderful house again!!

Amazing experience

5 of 5
The entire experience was unforgettable! Sean was very attentive and went above and beyond answering our questions before the trip. We arrived late, but followed the instructions and were able to get in without help from the housekeeper. However she arrived shortly after our phone call to show us around. Our 10-day stay at this property was PERFECT! the house is truly unique, very comfortable, the location is ideal - close to the grocery market, a few eateries, and off the main road, which made it secluded and tranquil. We came to practice silent yoga, and in search for privacy, but yet - experiences. We got it all! Instead of guided tours, we had a neighbor's dog showing us around. She helped us explore different places every day - took us to the island, to the river, to the Cabo Blanco national park. On the last day she wanted us to meet her owner, but we couldn't - we were still practicing silence. The beach is rocky, so don't forget to bring the swimming shoes. Then you won't have to look for a nice entry - the spot right in front of the house is good for swimming early in the mornings and in the afternoons. The location was so private that you are surely to feel on a deserted island most of the time. And yet - just a few hundred meters away there is life with a few bars, music, extremely nice people. And Montezuma is only 7 km way. If you are into yoga - there is a place in town that would organize yoga classes and fire ceremonies for you. But if you come to connect to the nature - all of it is delivered to your door: the monkeys, the chickens, a ton of beautiful birds and huge butterflies, of course the iguanas and so much more! Many thanks to the owners and the housekeeper - we truly felt like a family, being treated with such kindness. Amazing place! We are sure to be back for more!

Very beautiful house, inside and out along with the garden.

Outside shower, hot water throughout entire house a plus. We had problems with electrical after bad storm and Fanny took care of it as fast as possible considering where we are located. Location is perfect and fairly private 20 minutes from Montezuma and 30 from Santa Teresa. Jean Pierre Duclau Always got back to me in a very short time and his daughter Fanny who overlooks the house is fantastic and super sweet. Have stayed in many houses in Cabuya and this is by far the absolute BEST!!
