              Recent Norfolk Reviews

Our family of 9 adults and 6 children had a memorable and enjoyable 5 night stay at RockHall.

              4 of 5
The Mansion and grounds are formidable with many activities for the adults and children. The game room, pool table and media room were unexpected bonuses, while the exercise facilities, the tennis, bikes and of course the pool were thoroughly enjoyable. The pinball machine actually worked perfectly. Fires at night by the pool were memorable. The kids could explore the grounds and pick blueberries. while the adults enjoyed the evening card games in the richly appointed library, and daytime tennis. The many bedrooms are very nicely appointed indeed, all are spacious with on-suites. Two rooms are central air conditioned, while all others were adequately air conditioned independently. For those that needed to conduct some business, the WiFi was more than adequate. The owner, Michael, was very accommodating, and available with answers to any questions. The only negative we had was due to inadequate housekeeping upon arrival. This was quickly remedied, and Michael acknowledge this shortfall by refunding 9% of our total rental fee. This was not requested, and very much appreciated. We would recommend RockHall, and will consider a return visit as time permits. Jackie and Joe

              Beautiful Home, Relaxing Stay

              5 of 5
My husband have spent two weekends at this beautiful home in Sharon. Both times we came away relaxed, happy, and reluctant to leave. We spent much of the first weekend outside, hiking in the nearby Audubon Reserve and a 30 minute drive away in Hidden Valley. We spent much of the second weekend reading in front of the splendid fireplace in the family room! All of the rooms in the house are elegant yet comfortable. The bedrooms are charming. We chose a bedroom at the top of house and it felt like being in our own little hideaway. The kitchen has everything you need, and more. The grounds are large and peaceful and we look forward to going back in the summer or fall to see them in fuller bloom. A lovely place.

              Perfect family

              5 of 5
I was looking for my review and it seems to have disappeared, here it is again, sorry for the delay! My husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary here last summer. We rented the place for 10 days, and had various friends come up for a few days at a time. Our friends (mostly 30's, some little kids, from NYC and Boston) unanimously loved this location. You really feel like you have been welcomed into an extended New England family's warm, lived in, summer cottage. The history just oozes from this place, and the decor, books, games and tchotchkes really make this unique and special (especially the kids room, we though the single beds would be a deal breaker, but people were fighting to stay in there!). We spent the week hiking on easy NE rainforest trails, swimming in the pond, canoeing at sunset, cooking big family meals, playing manhunt on the grounds and charades by the fire. It was perfectly idyllic. We really look forward to coming again. Thank you!
