          Friendly beach community

          4 of 5
This house is very clean and freshly painted, with 3 upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and en suite bathroom, there is a second BR with a queen bed and third BR with a single size day bed. The bedrooms would accommodate 4-5 people, so any other guests would be sleeping on the two couches in the living room. This house is across the street from the beach, on the marsh side of Groveway, so it does not have its own private beach access. To get to the beach, you walk up the street for about 10 minutes to a small public beach access. Groveway itself is a picturesque street along the water where people walk, jog, skateboard, bicycle, etc every morning and evening. There are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants including two major grocery stores. We made good use of the kitchen, which is very well appointed with pots, pans, tools and dishes, and did quite a bit of cooking for ourselves. The house also has a first floor deck which is covered by a porch roof, and a second floor deck with an optional awning, so there were many opportunities to enjoy the Sound and the fireworks from these vantage points. There were plenty of extra sheets and towels in a locker area, although it would have been nice if the beds had been made up for us when we arrived. This house is dog-friendly with available dog bed, bowls, and other accessories, but clean enough that allergy sufferers should not be bothered by any pet odors or dander. Be sure to ask for 2 keys if there will be multiple users. The house has good AC that is easy to use in hotter weather. Overall, a nice property and we were glad we came.

          Beautifully Surreal and Serene

This was one of the nicest get-aways I've ever experienced. While the listing was wholly accurate, nothing could have prepared me for how incredible this property actually was. We found privacy in layers: both within the spacious bungalow in its relation to the main property, as well as the geographical location and the sense of calm we got from being right there on the shore of the Long Island Sound. The surrounding town is rich with history and is particularly a must-see for architecture lovers. Our hosts took us on a walking tour of the neighborhood and the countryside and simply put, they were so warm and hospitable, they were our friends by the time we left. I highly recommend this rental for anyone--especially if you live in the city and need even a short respite. I will undoubtedly rebook with them.

          Super Customer Service!!

          5 of 5
Unfortunately we had to cancel our long awaited month at this cottage due to Hurricane Irene. We were supposed to stay from Oct1st to Oct 30,2011. We are originally from CT & have family there & looking for just the right place & person to rent from & we found both! Coming from the NC coast, we know how devastating a hurricane can be & couldn't believe when we made it through Irene & the CT coast didn't. Throughout the whole process of renting, Cheryl was wonderful, she always answered all of our questions promptly & we soon gained complete trust in her. We were so excited about our trip & meeting her & then they get hit with the storm! We had to cancel by our own choice since Cheryl said she would have it ready for us & she was just wonderful in understanding our reason. She promptly returned our deposit along with a lovely note. Having been previous owners of an oceanfront hotel ourselves, & going through 7 storms, we know how taxing it is afterwards. She never let that get in the way of taking care of us.We can't wait to make a new reservation, hopefully for the spring & would highly recommend Cheryl to anyone interested in her properties. We also can't wait to meet her in person, we feel like we are friends already. Thanks again Cheryl!! Dave & Georgette Morse, NC
