          Beautiful Getaway

          5 of 5
Six of us - three couples - spent three days and nights at Puertazul as part of a 10 day vacation in Chile. The property is beautiful inside and out. All of the bedrooms were comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, and grilling outside as well. Nancy was hospitable, and supplied wonderful empanadas, as well as a full barbecue for one night of our stay. She also ran some laundry for us, which was much appreciated. Puertazul is well located for hiking, and also visiting wineries. Judy was able to arrange a driver for us, which was a great help as we could relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery - not to mention the tastings. In many ways, it was the afternoons spent lounging around the pool that were most restorative. We enjoyed our time thoroughly, and I would absolutely recommend the property to friends and family.

          Retired Airline

This property is a "Don't Miss" stay if you're remotely considering this region or Chile. We have traveled extensively and found no better host than owner Ian. The apartment is clean, adjacent to town center, well equiped, comfortable and perfect base for exploring Colchagua Valley Wine region. The main bus station is around the corner and bus travel to "anywhere" is easy, inexpensive, comfortable and safe. Ian is a beyond gracious host who treated us like close friends/family. The tours he suggested and arranged were spot on and in our opinion "better" than any commercial tour provider could provide. His family is well connected in the area and his recomendations for area dining were five star. Not only was the food spectacular but we were several times introduced to the establishments owners and enjoyed not only excellent food, but gracious company and new friendships. If memorable food while dining in a vinyard interests you ... please consider.
