The houseboat was great and in a really quiet location. Really quite different with good view of the hills around Berkeley. There were good walks close to the mooring. The atmosphere was quite relaxed. Lucy, the owner, made us very welcome and was most helpful. She is a most interesting woman and our only regret is that we didn't have more conversations. The bus that took us into Berkeley taught us patience and gave us a different slant on American society. We used it to see Oaklands and the hill surburbs of Berkeley. The BART is a great train service into San Francisco which we used a lot as well as the Uber system.
I think that excessively obese or bulky people might have problems with the space . It was slightly difficult to use the oven and the fire alarm went off twice when we did so but this was a really minor matter.Probably it is best ifyo u do have your own transport. The TV and DVD player are more than adequate and there is a good range of books. Cutlery, pots, and cooking implements are very good. Tt he crockery is excellent and quite idiosyncratic.
There is a fair number of birds in the area as well as ground squirrels and once we saw seals.
A really good experience best for two persons at the most.
