Janea's place is cozy, quirky charming, full of helpful hints and directions, clean and inviting as a relative's long lost tiny cabin in the woods. There are many interesting decor items and lots of books to grab attention, but the real attention grabber is the canopy of trees surrounding you, an entire old paned huge window filled with beautiful pine trees when you are in the family room, a sea of green before you. There is one convenient parking spot on the one-lane road, just ahead of the front steps and on the right side, and turn around is very easy just a short distance further up the road. The house is on a road that follows a creek, in a wooded canyon that would probably be refreshingly cool in summer. We stayed in December; it was cold (a low of 28 degrees F that night!) and it took a while for the place to heat up, but with the stove heater (which is connected to the house thermostat), and with a bedroom portable heater on, in a few hours it was really warm. We did not heat the extra bedroom, but I'd imagine on a less cold night, that would have heated as well in like timing. (Only one bedroom heater can run at a time; if cold, start the heat by mid-afternoon for evening comfort.) It was wintry-cold enough that the hot tub was not inviting, not quite warm enough, but that is probably not the case on warmer nights. We loved the adventure and welcome of staying there. And the town of Felton was a world away but near the Bay Area. It made a great memory and a fantastic getaway.
