My husband and I decided on a last minute getaway to Tahoe with our kids (ages 7, 5, and 2 months) before the end of the ski season. We found this lovely home on Homeaway and we were not disappointed. The owners were very quick to respond to our request. The garage was a good size and managed to fit my husband's truck. The house was very clean and quite nice inside. We stayed in the larger bedroom downstairs with our infant. I thought our daughters were going to be excited about getting to stay in one of the two big beds upstairs (one on the loft and the other in the upstairs bedroom where the computer was), but they both chose the downstairs bedroom next to ours. It was clearly a very roomy home, and next time I'd love to invite some other people to come with us. One of my favorite features was the heated floor in the downstairs bathroom. The central heating system works well, but our girls were more into having a fire in the fire place. The kitchen has a fair share of cooking items, including a waffle maker. We were overall very impressed with this rental and would definitely return in the future if it's available.
Things to know:
1) There's salt and pepper, seasoned salt, and oil, but that's pretty much it. So, if you need flour, sugar, condiments (eg, ketchup, mustard, syrup, honey, etc), you need to definitely bring those things.
2) The white coffeemaker that was there during our stay (April 1-3, 2016) didn't work well at all. It sputtered water out the top, leaked, and was mostly producing steam. This was the one thing we were disappointed about (but not worth losing a star over). So, if you are a coffee person, BYOC (bring your own coffeemaker) or be prepared to make a 30 min round-trip Starbucks run everyday.
So, like I said... overall, wonderful stay for our entire family. Thank you Dan and Heidi!
