I took a last minute trip to the Dreaming Tower for New Years with a friend. Anika was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. Even though I sent an 11th hour request to stay, she responded and helped me sort out the booking in time to make the trip.
The directions provided were incredibly detailed and helpful in locating the house and studio, which is well out of the way on a quiet and beautiful property. The studio was indeed spacious, well-appointed, and cozy. The views from the balcony were gorgeous and though we had to step outside to use the full bathroom, the view of a giant redwood on the 10 sec walk to the restroom was always a pleasant one.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The provided bottle of wine was a generous welcome gift and the binder full of site seeing, food, and hiking suggestions was incredibly helpful. Anika also gave us some tips and let us borrow a book when we asked for favorite hikes - we followed up on both top choices and were not disappointed.
Anika's family has a great story on the property and we were happy to learn more about the property's history while there. Just the right balance of feeling welcome without feeling like you're intruding on someone else's territory. Really felt like a special place and we were happy to have spent our New Years there!
I was feeling under the weather one night and thought I might watch a movie - worth noting that though there is wifi, it is not of the sort that allows streaming video. Plan in advance if you need/want a movie downloaded.
Bottom line - friendly host, comfortable and cozy accommodations, well-appointed, great tips and recommendations for the area. I would definitely visit the Dreaming Tower again! Great place to explore the coast and nearby parks from.
