I stayed at the cottage with my husband and a good friend for 6 days in August 2012. It's a beautiful little house on the edge of the village away from the touristic and crowded streets and with a wonderful balcony for breakfast and evening hangouts. Although none of us spoke any Portuguese or Luiz, the owner any English, we managed to easily negotiate all important details.
We really had a wonderful and utterly comfortable time in the cabin, I warmly recommend it to anyone wondering where to stay on the island. The cuisine of Brazil wasn't really for any of us such a favorite, so having our own kitchen gave us a good opportunity to make all our food at home. August is also a wonderful time to visit the island, not too hot, but still warm enough for shorts and bikinis!
Only negative side is the lack of mellow lighting, but it's easily overcome by some candles to make the mood relaxed.
Thumbs up and greetings to Luiz!
