My wife and I stayed in the studio for one week in February of 2017. The studio had plenty of space for both of us, but we really didn't spend much time indoors. The outdoor space is amazing! We felt guilty having it all to ourselves. Pool is gigantic. Location is quiet and secluded. Our only regret was not convincing all our friends to come and enjoy it with us.
Karoline was a great host. She had some groceries for us when we arrived and was always quick to help and answer any questions we had. We had a problem with the security system and we came home the next morning from diving to find her with the security company fixing it.
My wife and I are relatively new to scuba with only 10 dives before our trip. Karoline recommended VIP Diving to get our equipment. We did 2 guided dives with them and then felt comfortable enough to dive on our own (all shore diving). We rented air for the whole week, so our days pretty much followed a pattern.... wake up, go diving, come back to the house and eat lunch, rest, hang by the pool, then dinner in town. We learned to plan ahead on dinners - many restaurants require reservations.
Only downside of the trip was mosquitoes. That could be an aberration though... Bonaire is usually a very dry island, but 2017 has been an unusually wet year. It rained off and on the first 3 days we were there (quick downpours, then sunny again). The rain was never an issue, but mosquitoes breed in standing water and at night they came biting. We went through several cans of bug spray.
Overall a great trip though. Next time we will bring friends and rent out the whole house!
