        Great Location --- Great Price!!

        5 of 5
Home was is a good location - close to walking to the beach and watching the sunrises, and close to drive to Oistens (for most of our supper meals). We were met by the agent who showed us through the home and then was gracious enough to take time to lead us to Oistens (it was dark by this point, and our rental vehicle was minus the GPS we had asked for...). So the agent got us somewhere for our supper (most things were closed being Boxing Day when we arrived) and we navigated home on our own. Home was very clean on arrival. Rooms were all a good size, we had a party of 5 adults and never felt cramped. Great to have the 2 bathrooms. We brought towels as there was supposed to be none provided, however, it appeared that some people left their towels behind, as we did, so there were a variety of towels for showering and also a couple of beach towels. There were no hand towels and I did not bring those, so we had to use a facecloth for the hand towel. But that was my oversight. The property was in a safe neighborhood - mostly quiet except when the local dogs got barking - usually in evening and early morning. We were unable to have the windows in the bedrooms opened for ventilation (and there were good breezes when we were there) due to the noise of the dogs (and some of us did wear earplugs). We had the windows open in the rest of the house, as well as the front and back doors and it kept the house at a decent temperature during the day, as there is only AC in the bedrooms. We did have problems with the safe - took about an hour the first day to find that the only one that worked (and the last one we tried), is in the bedroom in the corner of the house. The yard is simple but nice. There is a washing machine (which also took me awhile to start, only to find that you have to push the door closed REALLY HARD with your leg to get it to engage and thus start the cycle). But that was handy for doing a load of wash and towels a couple times - clothes line is in back yard. Bring your own detergent. Adequate amount of plates and cutlery - the basics available for home cooking. There were dish sponges and dish towels provided. WiFi worked well - a most important thing for my adult children :) Overall it was a great rental property - we would recommend it, and would stay there again should we come to Barbados with a similar sized group. Thank you to Rodney for sharing his lovely home!
