Long Island: Vacation Rental Estates (3)

        Recent Long Island Reviews

        Nice, Peaceful, Well-Maintained Property

        5 of 5
My husband and I have stayed at Caribbean Blue Beach Estate twice, and we have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The first time we stayed was in 2015, before Hurricane Joaquin, and the second time was in 2017, more than a year after the storm. We were amazed when we came back that the house had been repaired to the extent that everything was exactly the way we had remembered it, except for some of the palm branches missing from the roof of the hut on the beach. If you enjoy crowds, night life, entertainment, lots of shopping, or a luxury hotel experience, you should probably visit Nassau or Disney instead of coming to Long Island. We love visiting Long Island, because it is very quiet, the people are so nice, the restaurant food is delicious and affordable, and we can have the beach all to ourselves as a general rule. The house is in a natural setting, and we love seeing the wildlife, such as hermit crabs, lizards, and the occasional wild boar. Caribbean Blue is tucked away in dense Bahamian vegetation, so although there is a handful of houses nearby, you usually never see other people unless you choose to do so. The house is on the top of a hill, and you can see the Atlantic Ocean from the back of the house. There is a private path that leads down the hill to the beach, which is in easy walking distance. The interior of the house is spacious, with an open dining/living room area. The wooden beams in the ceiling are gorgeous. The location of the house is in the sparsely populated Miley settlement, just south of Clarence Town. Within a 10-30 minute drive you can get to restaurants, stores, and attractions, such as the world-famous Deans Blue Hole. Brian and Audra are trustworthy and wonderful to work with before, during and after your stay. Audra does most of the communication, and she is very prompt in helping with any needs. With our most recent visit, our local caretaker was JJ, and he very graciously went way out of his way to help us when we needed his assistance. Caribbean Blue Beach Estate is a nice, peaceful, well-maintained property, and we highly recommend staying there.

        Best trip EVER!!!!

        5 of 5
Wow, where do we start? We had an AMAZING time on Long Island. We are a family of 5 and our children's ages are 13, 10 and 8. We just wanted to stay in a nice place on an island away from the busyness of Atlantis. Well, we got it! Judd and Dale, the owners of White Cliff Estate were AMAZING to work with. They helped us book our flights, drove our rental car to us when we got to the airport, hooked us up with a fishing trip that was amazing, found a church for us to go to and the list goes on and on. The house was INCREDIBLE!!! The pool was OUR FAVORITE! The view was just breathtaking. One of our favorite things we did was just sit on the pool deck while the kids swam. Judd and Dale set up a night where their house keeper, Ursula, came in and cooked an amazing dinner. We had our own personal chef for a night. It was a meal we will never forget! Since we stayed there 7 nights, Judd and Dale gave us a free ECO Tour with Charles and Teresa Knowles. INCREDIBLE!!! That was one of our favorite memories! We saw so many incredible starfish and caught a lot of conch!! It was the best trip EVER! We highly recommend Long Island and highly recommend the White Cliff Estate! The house is beautiful and has everything you need. We look forward to going back!

        PARADISE FOUND!!!!!

We had the fortune to spend 6 amazing days in the most secluded cove on Long Island. This REALLY is your very own private beach. The photos of this place simply cannot do it justice. I have never seen so many colors of blue in my life. Everything from setting up the booking to checking out was perfect. Brian and Laurel were great to do business with. Emails were answered almost immediately with well thought out, informative responses. The guide to the island and home they provided us was the most detailed guide I have ever received for a vacation rental. They thought of everything. The nearby caretakers, Mark and Jill were amazing too. Very welcoming but also totally respected our privacy, so the best of both worlds. To say the house is well stocked would be an understatement. We could have thrown a huge party for dozens of people, though there were only two of us with the run of the entire place. They really do think of everything. There was enough snorkeling gear to supply a small army so you don’t need to bring anything with you. The large screen projector upstairs was such good quality hi def I felt like we were at the theater. The beach is simply perfect. The water was so calm it was like a giant swimming pool full of fish. We saw a HUGE ray and lots of other fish. Interesting snorkeling along the entrances to the cove where the topography made it very scenic. I am sure there were a lot of other things to see on Long Island, but we couldn’t leave the cove. It was just too perfect. The cabana on the beach even has electricity and a ceiling fan! At night, the stars were spectacular. We had a moonless night so that and the lack of any light pollution made star gazing the activity of the night. One night we hired a local Bahamian lady to cook for us. It was one of the highlights of our trip, conch chowder, lobster tails and pasts. Plus she was a delight. Otherwise the kitchen was actually nicer than the one in my home so if you want to DIY, this place is great. Gas grill right outside the kitchen and a charcoal grill on the sand in the cove! If I could give this place 10 stars, it would be more appropriate. Go, get off the beaten path and relax. I can still hear the gently lapping waves.
