        Salzburg penthouse property

        5 of 5
We shared the penthouse with another couple with whom we are good friends. I had been to Salzburg several times in the 1990's and was generally familiar with the area. As it turned out, this property was located about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the main downtown tourist attractions. However, it was separated by the Siegmunster Tunnel (auto & pedestrian), which placed it in a much quieter and less traveled neighborhood. The property itself is truly one-of-a-kind. Very well-appointed and contemporary. I speculate that it was architect-designed. Three good-sized bedrooms. Plenty of storage space. The toilet and bath/shower areas were completely separate, greatly enhancing usage by a larger group. A highlight was two bathroom sinks made of petrified wood noted as 5 million years old! The rooftop deck is delightful….we opted for dinner one night on the deck under the stars. The entire property exhibits much attention to detail including lighting, skylights, furniture and bathroom fixtures. Washer/dryer facilities are in the basement. There in fact were no negatives. I'd only note that this is a third floor walk-up penthouse. But even the two flights of stairs were nicely illuminated by small inset lights automatically engaged by photosensors. Schlepping baggage up two flights could be problematic for older folks. We stayed here Sunday through Wednesday…..I was surprised by the throng of tourists visiting Salzburg. Since we visited in September after the commencement of schools and during the week, I expected less tourist traffic.

The property was everything they cite in their description!

        4 of 5
I would highly recommend staying in this building. It was everything they said it was. Modern, clean, very comfortable and very close to a bus stop. Very easy check-in, with great information available upon arrival, no key to lose, basically very hassle free. Easy communication with the Management Company. The rooftop terrace was amazing. Salzburg was one of the highlights of our trip, an unbelievably awesome city! I would certainly stay here again. I only have a few words of minimal caution, none of which would stop me from staying here. The neighborhood is very nice, but it is going through some heavy revitalization construction at the moment. It did not bother me at all, but if you are a really light sleeper the construction is right across the street and they seemed to start very early, 630ish. Be cautious of the stairway, it's beautiful, but it is designed in such a manner that if you are not cautious you may have an accident, we had a few. Haha. So check it out upon arrival, before you carry your bags up, and all will be great!

Excellent appartment. Very poor local contact

        4 of 5
The appartment is very nice . The location is excellent . My local contact Mr & Ms Edwin & Elisabeth Gisperg were so bad I could not bellieve this is happening in Salzburg . When we arrived at 3pm I tried to contact them : Ms Gisberg answered the phone and directed me to her husband's phone where I could talk to an answering machine . I left a message asking for somebody that will bring the key to the appartment . I waited and when there was no reaction I called again both Mr & Ms Gisperg . In both places answering machines answered me . Finally shortly before 5pm Mr Gisberg called and sent somebody who brought the key . On the day we left (09/08/2015) we were supposed to give the keys and receive back the 200 euro we gave as a deposit on the day we arrived , at 10am . No body came at 10 ! There was a car waiting for us . We called Ms Gisberg who again refered us to her husband . We insisted that she would call him . After some time he called us . At shortly before 11am a person came with our 200 euro .
