We loved staying at The Shack (that's what they call the cabin)! The owner was so welcoming and met us at the gate when we arrived! The cabin is down a dirt road in the middle of a beautiful piece of property. Tons of great views and wildlife! We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs watching the deer and wild turkeys roam the property in the evenings. The cabin itself is also great! It is well decorated and still has the "new" feeling! It is well stocked with basic cooking supplies, blankets, games and movies. Perfect spot for a couple or small family! We will definitely be staying at The Shack again! If you are looking for activities, we enjoyed going to Ponca and seeing the Elk in the evening. A stop at the Low Gap Cafe on the way home is a MUST! It is a bit of a drive from The Shack so be aware of that when making plans. We also recommed Buffalo River Outfitters for floating the Buffalo. The Shack was a great place to stay and do all the activities in the area if you don't mind a little driving.
