                Recent Saint John Reviews

                FANTASTIC!

                5 of 5
A beautiful romantic cottage set in a lovely private garden, waking up every morning to the site of bougainvillea, humming birds, other exotic birds and a dazzling pool-what more could you want. A short walk away is the fabulous Jabberwock beach although a car is really required to reach other parts of this beautiful island. If you don't want to visit local restaurants an evening spent on the cottage verandah with your caribbean cocktail and listening to the local wildlife all go to make the holiday complete. The extremely friendly hosts Sarah and John are always on hand to help if need and are a wealth of local information and history. We cannot recommend this cottage more highly, and will certainly return sooner rather than later.

A charming, unique retreat located off the beaten path

We were looking for a true island experience in a private, non-resort setting. The cottage was perfect! The decor was cheery with an island theme and the open layout, large windows and efficient ceiling fan afforded us fabulous circulation of the island breezes. When we weren't out exploring we spent most of our time out on the cozy front porch. Sonja was a very accessible, resourceful hostess who was truly committed to making our experience relaxing and enjoyable. Our favorite beach was only a 15 minute walk from the cottage. We chose to really explore the island and found renting an SUV right there on the property a real asset. The menagerie of dogs and cats was very welcoming, entertaining and not at all imposing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pinkshacktoo!

Myself my husband and 2 children aged 12 yrs and 1 yr stayed at Friars Hill Oct 08. The apartment was spotlesss, comfortable and had everything that you need, including a washing machine. The bedrooms are doubles and huge wardrobes and a/c. The island itself is georgeous and the beaches amazing, Long island was a favourite of ours as with children gentle waters and shade! the bar there sells great cocktails! I would also recommend the surf n turf at the waterfront which is near Sandals. We hired a car and drove around the Island which is a must and Shirley Heights is great! All in all we had a fantastic holiday and will be back again very soon, I would recommend this accomodation above any other!
