We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whalesong Cottage. The cottage is tucked-away amongst a quiet forest of hemlock trees and blueberry shrubs. Only rarely did we hear the sound of a vehicle in the distance driving down Glacier Highway - but that was only if we were outside of the cottage, whereas inside the cottage we enjoyed peace and quiet. The pictures of the property accurately reflect the accommodations inside and the setting outside of the cottage. The kitchen was fully stocked with common cookware and the dining set was sufficient for four guests. For entertainment, several board games and card games were provided, and the television was equipped with DirectTV while nearly 100 different DVDs/Blu-Rays were also provided. The internet worked very well. We had cell phone service during our entire stay. The outdoor deck was comfortable and included a small grill and several chairs and a table. The deck faced a hemlock forest and was as private as any deck could be. The bed was queen size and quite comfortable. The bathroom was clean, modern, and stocked with clean towels. Overall, we were very comfortable and happy with our rental and found the price to be very agreeable. If you are visiting Juneau and do not wish to stay in a hotel, motel, or B&B then we highly recommend Whalesong Cottage. We certainly felt right at home during our stay. The proprietors, Julie and Rick, were very kind and did an excellent job of showing us around the property and cottage upon arrival. We thank them both for providing this excellent lodging option in Juneau!
