If you are looking for a low key get away with your family this is the place! Dauphin Island isn't as commercialized as Gulf Shores. It is a charming little island where you can really unplug and spend time with the ones you love most.
As for the house it was wonderful!! The main living area is open concept decorated beautifully. The kitchen is stocked with everything from a large pot for crab boils to a blender for delicious smoothies made with ingredients from the local produce stand. A long bar with stools and a large dining table allow for plenty of seating. I think one of the only cons I would have would be the living room furniture while cute wasn't the most comfortable. Which in all honesty isn't all that bad because we spent most of our time on the deck. This deck which is right on the Gulf allowed for awesome coffee drinking in the morning and wine drinking at night.
When it comes to bedrooms this place is perfect for two families or one large family. Comfy and cute bedrooms with space to move around. Our little girls loved the bunk room. And our older daughter loved that she had her own space and bathroom.
Our favorite times included hunting for ghost crabs at night and walking along the beach looking for seashells during the day. I strongly suggest visiting Fort Gaines and having the blacksmith make you a special souvenir. Also taking the ferry over to Fort Morgan for a day trip to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
All in all this place is going down in my book as a return visit for sure!!
