We enjoyed our stay. It was as we had expected it to be close to the train station and at the heart of the city. We had difficulty at first with the NuKi system. I had to ask assistance form the Chinese owner of the restaurant close by it to interpret the language. She was so gracious to have left her restaurant unattended to come close to the door to be able to get instruction ... from the Netherlands. Amazing technology. Soon after, Michelle, the Antwerp caretaker, arrived and she brought us up to the apartment ... and even carried our huge suitcases. She also carried them to the van which was waiting for us at the street corner when we checked-out. Amazing strength.
This brings me to one downside, insignificant but worth mentioning, that the house in on a one way street. So our van was not able to come at the curb for pick up but we instructed him to wait at the corner.
Theo and Klaziena are lucky to have her as their caretaker. She responded quickly via text to all our inquiry and needs. Very friendly and amiable lady. And a super-woman. Our gratitude and appreciation to Michelle.
The apartment is a few meters to/from the train station, which we used everyday for our excursions outside the city. We used Antwrep as our base to Brugge, Ghent and Gouda in the Netherlands. We were even able to take the tram to the shopping center in Nijmegen. And as our one reason for renting an apartment, it was close to a supermarket where we buy our house needs. We booked two hotels, at the beginning and at the end of our travel and the middle lodging was in an apartment so we can wash our clothes. This apartment answered our needs.
If ever, we need to go to Belgium again we will definitely rent this superb apartment. We are sure to recommend it to our friends.
Thanks Theo and Klasiena for the hospitality and more thanks to Michelle and Achmed for their assistance.
