We enjoyed our stay in Ventron. The house is beautifully remodeled and as advertised. It was very comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed the view!
Our only disappointments: The owner's representative who greeted us did not offer us towels to rent, so we had no towels the first night and ended up going to Gerardmer to buy them. There was inadequate basic supplies (e.g. toilet paper) so you better bring them with you. And because we weren't allowed to check in until 5 PM on Saturday we could not go out to buy them. This same representative tried to overcharge us for the rental of bed linens (I don't think this was intentional - I think he wasn't familiar with the rental agreement). And I do not like the process of having to meet with the representative to determine what to pay at the end of the stay - electricity, taxes, linen rental. This is inconvenient. Why not just include these things in the price up front.
Finally, Ventron is a rural village with no grocery or other stores so be prepared to drive a bit for any of these.
Note that the guest information at the house is only in French so be prepared.
Overall, I would recommend this property as a good place to stay in this part of France!
