This was perfect. It is close enough to beach to carry your kayak. We had a magical time definitely coming back. We love visiting Cornwall and do so every year. But I think we found some where which suits are family perfect. Went to beach every day for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, rock pooling and just chilling. Lovely sheltered bay. The cottage is fabulous. It has every thing you need and more. The views are amazing.
The cottage is tucked away in the little village of Perranwell Station, a stopping point on the Truro to Falmouth rail line. The principal reason for choosing this locality was its proximity to Helston where we, two married couples, attended The Flora Day and Truro for the International Male Choir Festival. Padstow is a 45 minute drive to the north coast where we also went for "Obby Oss" Day. We were there for 2 weeks and managed to visit many other of Cornwall's attractions and coastal towns during our stay.
In the village there's a little shop/post office and a great pub called The Royal Oak. Make sure you have a meal there. They provide small serves for older folk who can't quite manage bigger meals. The quality of the food is excellent.
The accommodation was perfect for us. Very cosy rooms/bedrooms and a kitchen with every utensil one could wish for. The bathrooms/showers were very well appointed. The recyclables were a bit of a mystery as to where to put them and when they were collected, but that's about the only matter of any import.
Altogether to be highly recommended, especially for couples.
