  • First visit to St Mawes
    5 of 5

Little Cottage is a well appointed two bed holiday cottage with great views from the front bedroom. Parking (or rather absence of parking) wasn't a big issue as you can pull up outside to unload and the municipal parking is only a 5 minute walk away. The location may be a struggle for some as the road from the car park is rather steep (45 degrees in part) , but good for the leg muscles. Good patio area to the front of the cottage and a good view of the bay. If you want a "kiss me quick" free location that's got great walks then St Mawes is worth a try, but watch out for those steep inclines.

  • A perfect cottage in a perfect Cornish village

We spent the last two weeks of June at Cove Cottage at Portloe - what a wonderful place and the Cottage was perfect for us. Three of us one week and six the second week, quite comfortable and well appointed. Great views over the harbour, and easy access to the Coastal Path. The managers Alan and Melanie were accessible, responded to us promptly, and gave us good tips as to what to do and where to eat in the area. We were lucky enough to be in Portloe when it was Open Gardens - 10 of the village’s houses opened their gardens for public viewing - despite the rain it was one of the highlights of the fortnight. Dinner at the Ship Inn was great, as was the Lugger (although considerably more expensive). We were able to park on the harbour ramp most days, and the other days used the public car park at the top of the village. A perfect place to stay in a perfect Cornish village - thoroughly recommended!! Tim and Linda Adelaide
